Redesigning a Redesign by zypherax Redesigning a Redesign by zypherax
indeed, this is a further redesign of the Na'Vi featured in avatar, as their humanoid shape had bothered me...

this redesign is in fact a redesign of my previous redesigns, and I suspect that in the months to come, I shall create yet more variations of the redesign untill I arrive at something I can finally call finished....

in this particular concept, I saught to highlight the vegitation, as I was rather unimpressed by pandora's alora as well, so I set about changing the basic principles of it...

eh, much more to come soon, I compleeted this particular sketch about four months ago, and there is SOOO much more I must upload!

Better than the movie, but cost less than $300 Million

Thank you!

I think I must ask for clarification on the latter end of the statement though; are you indicating that the film itself cost less than $300 million, or that this design in practical application in the film would cost that amount?

thank you! I am happy to inspire, and perhaps I will do some more redesigns of the film's flora and fauna at some point, but I am currently occupied with a different set of projects... feel free to view some of my other work though, as I have no intentions of ceasing to draw! XD

you are welcome.

after viewing your gallery, I have found that you (like many others) tend to draw typical things found in pop culture, such as dragons, knights, and something that looks suspiciously like the bounty hunter from the star wars films... I say, it would be best to veer away from things such as that, find something in the world that inspires you to imagine and to draw things entirley unlike the things that have already been drawn by other people... I often find that the most mundane of things can inspire fantastic ideas. for instance, take a look at my artist's comments for this piece;[link] , there I rambled on about an idea for a creature inspired by a sketchbook. really though, if you draw things that are at least slightly removed from what is typical, your designs will be far more interesting.

also, work some more on value studies and shadows, as your work seems rather flat now...

Please though, keep drawing! the voyage to decency is a long and difficult one, and I have still not even come close to reaching the destination myself... we shall improve.

Fresh! Yeah, Avatar did try to have its hexapod cake and eat it too. This redesign is hella cool. Does it have eyes, though? That was a pretty common feature on Pandora.

thank you! no, it does not have eyes... I believe I explained the way it 'sees' in one of my journals or on another of the na'vi redesign pages.
